Solihull College Intranet Terms & Conditions

 

Acceptance:

These terms and conditions are subject to change without prior notice and at the discretion of the institution.

By using the Solihull College Intranet and its on-line systems you are automatically accepting, and therefore bound by these terms and conditions.

 

Usage Conditions:

Media Content (inclusive of images, graphics, animation and video) may not be copied, reproduced, republished, stored locally, posted, broadcast or transmitted under any circumstances.

Textual Material may not be copied, reproduced, republished, posted, broadcast or transmitted in any way except for your own personal non-commercial home use. Any other use requires the prior written permission of Solihull College. You agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any of the material contained in this site or use it for any other purpose other than for your personal non-commercial use. You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner which does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party. Such restriction or inhibition includes, without limitation, conduct which is unlawful, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person and the transmission of obscene or offensive content or disruption of normal flow of dialogue within this site.

This site and its content inclusive of, names, images, pictures, logos and icons regarding or relating to Solihull College, its products and services (or to third party products and services), is provided "AS IS" and on an "IS AVAILABLE" basis without any representation or endorsement made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy. All Solihull College electronic content and associated downloads have been scanned prior to upload and have been established as virus free. Downloading of any of this material is done so entirely at the end users own risk. Solihull College bears no responsibility for the corruption of files or transmission of viruses through data transfer.

This site and its content, inclusive of all media relating to Solihull College or its products and services are non-static and may be subject to change at the discretion of the institution without prior notification. The institution is not responsible for the currency of third party content relating to Solihull College or any of its subsidiaries found on, or linked to, from external sources.

Solihull College fully adheres to the Data Protection Act 1998.

 

Usability:

All care has been taken for the Solihull College Intranet to accommodate a broad range of user requirements without restricting functionality. It has been optimised for delivery to the widest possible target audience.

The 'learn.solihull.ac.uk' website is written to conform to XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS Level 2 compliance. In a minority of cases where functionality dictates conformity, pages are written to XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS Level 2 standards. All browsers conforming to W3C standards are compatible with the Solihull College Intranet.

The Intranet can also be customised by the user to suit individual preferences if session-cookies are enabled, see Data Storage.

 

Data Storage:

The Solihull College Intranet does not retain any personal information other than information offered willingly by user input or email.

Permanent cookies are not used within the site although per-session cookies are required for customisation and login areas to maintain user status. Per-session cookies are destroyed on exiting the browser.

Google Analytics tools are used to generate statistical information on how the intranet is being used so that functionality can be maintained and the site can be optimised to match usage.

These terms and conditions do not apply to the use of third party sites either visited by the end user or linked to via the Solihull College website. Third party sites carry their own guidance and conditions of use.
