Research and Development
The Network and ICT Services Managers, senior IT staff and the ILT team are responsible for identifying IT and telephone initiatives which might be to the benefit of the College and investigating their suitability for adoption. Such initiatives include improved desktop operating systems and new infrastructure equipment to improve network performance.
Service Standards and Service Problems
Here in ICT Services we work to published Service Standards which are available to staff and to students via the link below. If you experience problems with any aspect of our service we would like to know about it. Any issues which cannot be resolved by the IT Support Helpdesk or technical team are escalated to either the ICT Services or Network Managers.
ICT Resources (Equipment Loans)
Cross-College Resources is based in room B101A at the Blossomfield Campus and offers both staff and students a wide variety of portable IT and audio-visual resources for short-term loan (one week in most circumstances). You will need to complete a form in order to borrow items and if you are a student you will need your ID card and your form will need to be countersigned by your tutor. Please note that first year students are not permitted to borrow laptops during their first term at the College.
Halls of Residence - Internet Procedures
Across our 120 self catering rooms we offer an optional internet connection. Before deciding to take advantage of this option please carefully read the following procedure. It may well be that alternative mobile broadband packages are a better option for you particularly if you are intending to use your system for peer to peer connections.
Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate in contacting the IT Support helpdesk.
