What's available at the Open Access Centres?

Our facilities in the Open Access Centres at Blossomfield and Woodlands campus include:

  • Access to the internet, e-resources and printing
  • Scanning and colour printing
  • Computers with large screen monitors
  • Adjustable table for wheelchair users

Support for students with additional needs includes:

  • Help with locating and accessing learning materials on the college network
  • One to one help with getting started on the computer
  • Support with using different Microsoft Office and MAC applications
  • Help with adjusting computer settings to meet individual requirements
  • Help with setting up the PC if you wish to bring in and use your own keyboard skin overlay, trackball and/or mouse

Assistive software to support students with disabilities includes:

  • Read and Write
  • Dragon naturally speaking
  • Accessibility features available through the Windows Operating System or Internet Explorer

Please ask if you require a headset to use specific software.
