Student Services

Examinations and Assessment Service

The Examinations and Assessment Team is located at the Blossomfield Campus.

If you are 16 to 18 years old you will not be required to pay Examination fees, with the exception of re-sits. If you are above this age you will either have paid these fees or had assistance from student finance at enrolment. You will also be required to pay for any re-sit Examinations.

Once the Examination form is completed, if you do need to pay, you must go to the Student Information Centre, Payment Help Desk to pay and obtain a receipt.

Please do this promptly, as in many cases late fees are charged by examination boards for entries made after their deadline. Information is available from your tutor.

If you don't need to pay your tutor will collect the forms and forward them to the Examinations and Assessment Team.

The Exams department also has a Help Desk in the Student Information Centre at the Blossomfield Campus. This helpdesk is the first point of contact for staff and students who have any questions about examinations. It is situated to the left of the Main College reception and is open between 8.45am and 4pm Monday - Thursday, 8.45am and 3pm on Friday. A member of the Examinations and Assessment Team can be contacted via the Central Data team at the Woodlands Campus.

You can also contact the exams office by phone between 10.00am and 4.00pm daily.

Student Finance

You don't have to let a lack of money stop you from coming to college. If you are on benefits or have a low income then there are various funds available if you are starting a course at the College.

Funds are limited and will be targeted at those most in need. You should apply as soon as possible as funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We have enough funds to assist around 1500 students and last year received around 2,500 applications.

For further information please see our Financial Assistance Guidelines for 2010-11.
